Remembering Lewis David Redshaw, who died on 9 March, 2010, in a road accident.
Mr Redshaw, who was 19 years old and from Bridlington, was a former pupil of Headlands School and Community Science College.
He left after completing his GCSEs in 2007.
Kent Walmsley, deputy headteacher at Headlands, said: "We were very sad to hear of this tragic news.
"Lewis was a lovely character who will be missed by his peers."
His heartbroken mum Jane Marshall said: "Lewis was such a kind and caring son.
"He had a wicked sense of humour and had a strong enthusiastic character which filled a room and made everyone smile.
"My son was one in a million and he has left an irreplaceable gap in the lives of my family."
Lewis was a part-time lifeguard who had recently saved a boy's life in a swimming pool incident at Cayton Bay, near Scarborough, and had received a bravery commendation,
He was a fan of reggae music legend Bob Marley and accomplished one of his biggest ambitions by visiting the singer's grave in Jamaica. ...
